Another action packed week at RCTGC
Half of our members participated in Harlaxton State School 125 anniversary. Burgers and drinks
were cooked and dispatched with great efficiency - 170 burgers in total. Thanks to all involved and to
Service committee and Damian for the organisation.
A good roll up at the Federal Hotel on Friday night for our monthly social event. Jacquie has
circulated a request for ideas for future social events.
Bunnings sausage sizzle dates Sept 4 & Nov 8. Lara and Bruce are endeavouring to get more dates.
Thinking of Wendy in her recent sadness, the passing of her father. Also of members who have been unwell and or receiving treatments. We care and hope things are
on the improve.
As a result of information of our previous guest speaker Lu Graw we have become interested to help
her in setting up her The Day village at Helidon Spa This place is to be a community meeting for
families in the Lockyer Valley. The day village was previously held in Helidon but had to shift and has
had been catering for 50 people per week. Lindy, Brian and I visited there on Monday and found
there would possibly be a lot of repairs /odd jobs we could do to help. We await feedback that Lu
is pursuing from Council.
Ear testing continues at Darling Heights School . A few more volunteers would be good. Monday
and Tuesday. 9 am - 12 noon.
Word of the week EVEREST . We probably won`t go climbing this obstacle but undoubtedly will have
our own EVEREST to climb and some heights to aim for.
See you Friday 7am
Peter
