Rotary greetings to all
Friday's eventful meeting was well managed by chairman Matt. Our two guest speakers reminded me of how many amazing people in our community who are
providing service to the world and our wider community.
A great Garden City welcome to Wendy Byron. It was with great pleasure that I announced our
newest member. Wendy has wide and varied experience in Rotary,which we are keen to learn
about. A tireless worker and Area Govenor who hosts Cluster meetings of local presidents at Soul
café on the first Thursday of the month 7AM,
Keep in mind volunteers needed for mock interviews at Good Samaritan college Oct 16 headed by
Fiona.
As we have agreed to build a pergola for Gateway house, we await final arrangements so as to set a
date for the work. We have obtained a grant of $5000 for this.
As a result of our recent associations with Harlaxton Neighbourhood Centre, I was invited to their
AGM. I had the opportunity to speak for ten minutes about Rotary. A good opportunity to spread
the word.
Word of the week EXTRA MILE. I see every day Rotary and Rotarians who are well accustomed to
going the EXTRA MILE.
