Just recovering from a very busy board meeting at Lara`s office. A host of agenda items were
addressed and acted upon on behalf of all club members in 2 hours 15 minutes.
AGM is set for Dec 10
A donation to Grace House of $1000 was approved resulting from our guest speaker Mariam
speaking of her work in Cambodia.
As Christmas is approaching we are looking at supporting the efforts of some charity organisations.
We have had some enquiries. We have supported Base Services in the past. Members are invited
to offer suggestions.
As you know Toowoomba Mayoral Carols by Candlelight is usually a huge event of up to 15000
participants in Queens Park. Rotary has been offered opportunities both immediate and long term
to join many local businesses and organisations in partnership supporting this event.
Looking forward to an update on our club activities at next Friday`s Club assembly as presented by
President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, President Elect and leaders of our 5 portfolios -
Administration, Youth Service, Service, Membership and Fundraising. I believe that this
communication and member involvement is essential in the continued functioning of our vital club.
Word of the week EMPOWERMENT. EMPOWERMENT is something we give to ourselves as well as
others and organisations. In Rotary we find countless examples of EMPOWERMENT. Recent guest
speakers have shown excellent examples of offering EMPOWERMENT
